Bought my S23 Ultra back in February. I've tried about 5 different phones since then (Fold 5, Flip 5, Pixel Fold, Motorola Flip, and Pixel 8 Pro). The one I i keep coming back to is the S23 Ultra. You're right. The hardware is just so polished and premium and combined with that excellent camera and gorgeous screen for content, it's such a win for Samsung!!

I have the Samsung Galaxy S23+ and now with One UI 6.0 December 1st patch is an amazing option.
I have the 512GB of Storage and with its 8GB of Ram it's a beast as well.

I chose the 7 pro over the 7a due to the QHD+ diplay and over the S23 Ultra / Pixel 8 due to price.

The S23 Ultra was by far the best phone I have EVER owned. I hated going back to an iphone 14PM, but using social media so much, the app optimization is just so much better on iOS. Not to mention there are a few apps I use where the iOS version has more features than the Android version (which never made sense to me).

But if the S24 Ultra is good, I might just jump ship because I've always preferred Android.

Owner since FEB.23:

+ BATTERY (just wow!)
+ SCREEN (wow again! Convenient size, you can do so much. I barely use my laptop/tablet. Perfect to watch videos)
+ SOFTWARE (Reliable every single time. One UI is like an upgraded stock Android. Floating windows are amazing, DEX is unique)
+ PEN (perfect for micro-selections, convenient for photo editing, great for translating safeguarded apps where copying/taking a snip is not allowed)
+ESIM (convenient and adds extra security)
+ Works great with SAMSUNG ecosystem (TVs, earbuds, watch)
+ Work profile (an android feature but still great)


- CAMERA (great for videos, average for stills. Do not expect miracles. The blur, especially in dark environments is real. Playing with the PRO settings is not optimal for a quick snap. Camera is inferior to PIXEL and iPhone in my opinion)
- ECOSYSTEM ( the Samsung ecosystem is good but products feel beta, except the TVs)
- Missing a good watch companion (not related to S23 directly, but watch-phone bundle is becoming important for a bunch of consumers. The watch is perfect as health companion but not for information e.g. missing stock apps)

Overall, reliable android phone. A productivity machine. I recommend it for the widgets, pen, floating windows, DEX. I do not recommend it if you want a companion watch and great, not just average camera. If this is the case for you, go for an iPhone.

Still running my S22 Ultra. Devices these days, retain usability so much better now than past devices. I look at all my device purchases as an investment over years. Used my Note 5 for 4 years, 5 months. Used my Note10+ for a bit over 2 years but that was due to a manufacturing defect in the front glass. (No drops, just cracked on the side while I was holding it in my hand, under the screen protector)

So made the purchase of the S22 Ultra and have enjoyed it ever since. Hoping it doesn't have the same issue the N10+ had.

Fantastic video, Jacklyn! I definitely like seeing one of the main devices released in 2023 being looked at again 11 months down the road. I say 11 months because I received my preorder from T-Mobile 11 days before the device's official launch. :D Truly, this has been the first Samsung device I have wanted to keep longer than a few months since the S9+ and Note 9.

I really like how Samsung optimizes their software. The fact I can use a third party launcher (Niagara Pro) with the Good Lock modules is a huge win. The display is so beautiful and animations are butter. Plus, the battery is excellent as well - it can last more than a day (2 days if without gaming).
