I wanted to make a particle flow version of last post's spiral swirls. I thought it would be straightforward, but it didn't quite go as planned. The fancy complex math turned out too messy for the flow version, so I turned to my older vortex demos for a more "engineering" solution. There were a lot of surprising steps along the way, too much to fit in an Instagram post, but here's one:

The vortices come in source/sink pairs, and following another old demo, they include a "teleport" for regurgitating particles from a sink to a source. An interesting effect appears when two sinks or two sources are close together; they then form a single elongated variant. In general, the resultant vortices could be quite different from the original vortex points, so I had to take that into account for the teleport placement.
