Everyone moans about Ovations sliding of their knee but these guitars are always destined for stage use and so would be played stood up, on a strap and plugged in. Fantastic guitars.

I bought a 1975 -Solid body Viper--virtually unused, owner's manual, original strings. Not a s high tech as the new ones but sounds great, plays easy and stays in tune

Love all my Ovations. Looking forward to trying new models. i wear a strap, so no sliding problems. But can play without a strap as well. Best sounding guitars I've owned and feel amazing. Good job Ovation.

I really wish they hadn't made such drastic body design changes. the original solid body viper takes the basic single cutaway body design found in the Les paul body but still able to be different and unique. I know that the ovation headstock is on the other models but why would you redesign your solid body electric guitar model with the intentions to attempt and compete with standard solid body electrics like back in the 70's and 80's only to change the headstock design which is a key defining feature of ovation guitars that is beautiful and unique

Do these slide right off your lap too? :)

I owned an Ovation and enjoyed the sound and playability, but I just couldn't deal with the smooth back sliding up and putting everything off balance.

Is the 6967 viper any good? What are they worth used?

I love that viper, but it's a little tinny. I think it's the amp, I'm not sure.

why can't they just make a new breadwinner!

why dont these companies just get the specs out for the original guitars and reproduce them instead of just settling for what ever electronics the Chinese have on the shelf with fancy covers ? reproducing the viper series would be a bigger seller, you could address any flaws they might have had

I'm diggin' that Viper, but....$3, 299...??

Stop. Just...stop it.

I became very interested in Lace's Alumitone pickups when I first heard about them, but I do not like the way they sound. Furthermore, their transformer-based design greatly reduces the wiring possibilities in an electric guitar.

Yet another thin and metallic (not in a good way) sounding offering from Ovation. They've been perfecting the weak and thin tone for decades.

Every time I watch this gentleman demo a guitar it sounds really bad. I think Ovation needs to hire someone who has the ability to showcase their instruments better.

Too bad Ovation has never been lefty friendly. They make nice guitars like this one, but unlike other guitar makers like Taylor or Martin we southpaws have never been able to play them.
