Session 3: Data science for development

The availability of new and higher frequency data streams (high resolution satellite images, cell phone records, etc.), along with the advent of improved deep learning methods, are allowing researchers to discover important trends in parts of the developing world that are difficult to access. This session explored how researchers are improving our ability to understand and help people in areas that are underserved.
