5v5 Coming to Overwatch 2 - Devs Breakdown PVP Changes

Overwatch 2 developers made a game changing announcement as the way PVP is played in Overwatch 2 will fundamentally change. Overwatch 2 will feature 5v5 gameplay a change from the 6v6 that fans are familiar with from the original Overwatch game. Why 5v5? What's the bloody point in making it like other shooters, besides dps queues are like 10mins already now your going to kick out the last 100 tank players from the game since no one likes solo tanking. I'm looking forward to the PvE content & will just stick to that if 5v5 is a thing (it was good while it lasted).

1:05 it's so counterintuitive. literally one of the biggest reasons why overwatch is fun IS BECAUSE they're so much shit going around at once. the chaos is what makes it fun. when you basically reduce the amount of people that get to play game, you reduce the chaos, making it less interesting. so dumb.

Instead of making it one tank they should have done a vote if system per game where your team gets to choose whether or not they get one healer, one tank or one dps it would make the games more dynamic and more fun

I think this will make it way more difficult to counter certain team comps because off tanks with main tanks are essential in the process of countering certain tactics, play styles, and team compositions.

I’m calling it right now that only two tanks will be played. Rein and Oriso. There will be no room for off tanks. They didn’t label the ways they would fix that problem only said it was a problem. And even if they do put a change, I guarantee they will be harassed out of playing their favorite hero to play Rein or Orissa.

I haven't played yet 5 v 5, so I can't know how it will be to play tank, but I'm sceptical and having a hard time keeping an open mind

I hate the change of 5v5 why? Wtf 6v6 is so much better I don’t understand their logic they literally said we’re removing 6v6 because it’s hard for us to track them all during I’m assuming esport?. Furthermore they’ve just like barely shown anything super ground breaking or new and didn’t show any new character redesigns.

Tanks can be problematic...mainly because your balance for this game has been problematic from day 1. I can see why Jeff left now. Can't even imagine how bad queue times will be now for the overflow of dps/support players.

Imagine how toxic people will be when someone insta-locks hog and other team has shield and snipers lol. I don't think they really thought this through about how much pressure will now be on one player and how this will probably just make people want to play tank even less than they do now leading to insane queue times. Game already has enough dps/supports flaming their tank line and that's now all going to just come down onto one player. Awful, awful change.

This really feels like they just changed it for the sake of changing it. 2-2-2 was perfect they shouldn't have changed it. And people saying we have to play it before judging aren't really seeing the point

They have no idea how wrong this 5v5 change is. They just need to add more interesting tanks to game, and stop slow feeding us characters! All they had to was add a lot of tanks and support, but they copped out and made the the game 5v5, good luck to the bullseye OW2 tanks mains. THEY RUNIED OFFTANK PLAYER!
