This isn’t really true. The market needs to open the next day to determine the value of index options. They are settled based on the opening trade of each stock that makes up the index.

The whole idea of buying options ( puts/calls) is to have limited risk to begin with ( so who cares about overnight risk)

You literally said the same thing 3 times…. Didn’t mention the fact that they are cheaper and way more risky because they expire that day the pullbacks will crush your contract premium and the stock can run in your favor the whole day and you’ll still end with a losing trade. You all better get a mentor and stop listening to everything you hear on YouTube. How do you even know he really trades? Have you seen a filled order or a PL day? Success has receipts!!

Be careful to close these things out when you have profit and not just wait to let them expire. Some brokers will assign you the shares and then you’ll be totally wiped out if it drops overnight. You’ll wake up with hundreds of dollars in losses if you get assigned spy at 450/share if it drops. Otherwise you can make money sometimes.

Stay out of them period. They will make your life misserable I guaranteed it. Longer exp days is the way to be profitable and consistent trader trust me
