'Rashford has to be FIRST ONE TO WANT IT!' | Ruben Amorim and Bruno Fernandes | Man Utd v Bodø/Glimt

Press conference with Manchester United head coach and captain Bruno Fernandes ahead of their Europa League league stage match against Bodo/Glimt.

Amorim talks about the injuries to Maguire and Yoro, saying both are close to fitness but it will take time. He discusses how much he’s looking forward to his first game at Old Trafford, says there will have to be some rotation for the game to help his players feel involved, and explains his policy of having players not involved in the squad do a full training session.

He says he didn’t take any offence from being interrupted by Ed Sheeran. When asked whether he’s spoken to compatriot Jose Mourinho about Bodo/Glimt after they beat his Roma side 6-1, Amorim says he’s not focused on what side the Norwegians may put out, as he’s just focused on getting a win.

On implementing his tactical system, he comments on how long he thinks it will take, acknowledges that there were some errors made against Ipswich, but assures that the players will adapt. He states that he’s not totally wedded to his trademark 3-4-3 system and can and will adapt as necessary.

Amorim admits the lack of goals in the side is a concern but emphasizes it’s a team issue rather than a problem confined to the strikers.

When asked whether he thinks he can restore Marcus Rashford to the form which saw him score 30 goals in the 2022/23 season, Bruno speaks about whether he still feels the players should take responsibility for Erik Ten Hag’s sacking. He also reflects on whether he feels he needs to adapt his game to play as part of a front three and how tough it is to adapt to new ideas as a more senior player.

He knows what Utd have become the last 10 years and instead of staying in the comfort and glory of Sporting CP, he took the bull by the horns and put his reputation on the line to save Manchester Utd.
