AT&T shutdown, retired, decommissioned, or sunsetted their 3G and 2G networks because they wanted to focus on 5G.

This is not being transparent. There was no notification to all Mobile users. Why couldn’t they use 5G to notify users?

AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile have all been talking about “Sunsetting” their 3g networks for years. If the security, alarm, and safety companies weren’t prepared for that then that is on them. There is no reason they need 2-3 years to transition customers to the new networks. 3G has been around for 20 years, it’s time to move on. If you don’t want the carriers to move on then don’t complain your phone isn’t usable when you are at events or at a location with terribly slow service.
