I wish that Phoebe, Joey and Rachel had been in more plots with just the three of them. They had great chemistry, and the only other example I can think of is when Rachel brings Joey and Phoebe along to an auction, and Joey accidentally buys a speedboat.

This is actually the most realistic episode in the series. This is when the group divided on their income status and money became the focal point in their argument.

What really surprised me is that none of them even knew of each other’s financial struggles specifically Rachel & Monica and Joey & Chandler since they were roommates.

Very relatable episode because I have a lot of successful friends that are doing a lot better than me as well.

They could celebrate at home. But instead, if they invited them, the inviter should have paid the pill. It is the inviter's choice. This should be this way for every invitation.

I love the Nigerian culture around this. We rarely talk about how much we actually earn but everyone is very conscious of money. One of the rich friends usually just bankrolls everyone during outings. When this becomes uncomfortable, because of ego or low-self esteem from the lesser rich or arrogance and reluctance from the rich. The friendship just slowly fritters and becomes less close. This has been my experience and I might be wrong. No one goes Dutch in Nigeria though. Rather, it will be an unofficial round robin thing.

To be fair, the ones who want to have a celebration ( especially when they get fortunate event such as promotion/big prize, etc) should pay the bill.

I think the lesson here is you shouldnt let money get in your way of friendship. Money is nothing without your friends by your side and if you let that bother you, it'll affect your friendship

I miss self aware, occasionally ditsy, but still capable Joey. In the latter half of the series, he became such an idiotic caricature, that you'd wonder how he was able to function.

Tbf phoebe and Joey are following their passions which there’s nothing wrong with but you have to understand that if you want to make money than it can’t always be something you love
