Ardie, your review was so comprehensive on this that I have shelved plans to film one of my own!!! I would have little to add, and I'm a bit biased anyway, and perhaps incapable of a "fair" review. But, I am overjoyed that you seem to think this is a great release, like I do!

For the clean-up of the Series Rules, much of the credit goes to Bill Byrne, who has emerged as the series' Rules Czar and Developer Extraordinaire! In 2019, artillery underwent quite a bit of change, but the rest of the work was certainly concerned with clarifying the core rules and concepts. Bill has done, and continues to do, a great job of keeping the system as manageable as possible, knowing that, as you say, this is always going to be "the deep end of the pool" for Civil War tactical game systems.

For the Battle Book, there are a LOT of Shiloh-specific concepts, such as the Johnston special abilities, the custom woods rules (these might be leveraged in later games, such as say... The Wilderness), command "control" rules, Alerts, Ammo Resupply, and more. Shiloh was a one-off in a few ways, so that contributes to a thicker-than-normal BB to give the battle the proper historical flavor.

So, seeing as the counters fall out of the sprue without any muss or fuss ... are you going to "have to" clip these counters? :) If so, I expect to see this game under your mitts on an upcoming Monday show.

Well done! I’m working on Shiloh as a miniature game (GHQ rules 10mm figs) and love to get board games to go along with miniature projects. I may have to get this!

Nice unboxing. I have this and already unboxed it myself. It's a nice production and I'm looking forward to it. I sort of collect Shiloh games because my Great Grandfather served there in the 71st Ohio Volunteer Infantry. (Also Nashville when a game happens to be published.) Thanks

Ardwulf don't feel bad. Up until yesterday I didn't have the ability to set up a table to play these games. I had to spend most of the week moving things and getting my hobby room in order and now I can set up my six foot folding table and particle boards as the game top. Id like to get a wargame dealing with horse and musketry era.
