My Book Review for Lady of the Lake by Andrzej Sapkowski.
I have truly enjoyed my time with the Witcher series, but since this book concludes the storyline with Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer and Co, I am going to stop right here and read the other book another time!

I agree. But I would have gone with 6. The first half was really poor. It was just Geralt on holiday, Ciri saying 'I don't understand' over and over, haughty elves who apparently know everything but can't invent guns or steam engines... Oh and talking unicorns.
The second half picks up and was okay. I liked that we had a large chunk to wrapping everything up. Although I didn't think the main 3 characters were wrapped up particularly well.

Oh and the writer was definitely trying way too hard to be clever and the book can be very confusing as a result. Especially the audio book. More than once I didn't have a clue what was going on, but I just rolled with it.

I don't like ending of book. I think games made a great job to continue Ciri's story and her destiny because author clearly not finish it.

I just finished the series. I am pissed with the way it ended. 8 EXCELLENT BOOKS AND IT ENDS LIKE THIS???? Uggg. I was hoping Ciri, Geralt, and Yen would have been involved in creating the ‘new world order’. And then they but not really and Ciri dips into a new world. I will get little sleep tonight; I will be busy fuming.

Also Ciri never really developed consistent super sorceress powers. I wanted that to happen.

Because you asked for comments and I have read the books, I would even give it a lower grade lol
I think the writer wanted to become a Tolkien but he just failed to have his core characters involved with the main worldbuilding events.
So, when the end comes, we find out that the chore quest was just some irrelevant story going on in the background? That was still fine and possibly interesting.
But the real problem is that most of the core characters do not get proper resolutions which make sense with their character arcs. And here I will go into serious spoilers:

Geralt: We do not know why he just decided to quit being a witcher. He never explains why. We also do not know or understand why he decided to be so reckless at the end. He did not even take a potion to be faster, stronger, which he absolutely can. So, why did he just quit? Worse, why did he just quit now that he has Ciri again? He does not yet know what is about to happen to Ciri so he should be very hopeful of meeting her again soon.

Yen: We do not know or understand why she decided to go back to the sorcerers again. Makes no sense because she is obviously seen as a traitor. Yes, she has Ciri which she may use to get back into power. But is she really trying to use Ciri? Her daughter who risked everything to go save her? Her daughter who she risked everything to try and save her? Why is she now going back to the sorcerers when before she did not trust them and risked going after Vilgerforz alone? Makes no sense! And she just goes alone with their plan to marry Ciri somewhere else? She has no backup plan to run away or do something? She, like Geralt, is just going to quit now that she has Ciri back?

Ciri: Why is Ciri going to the sorcerers? Because she trusts Yen? After she has seen and done, Ciri should have been the first to warn Yen that everyone just wants to use her. So, Ciri should have become an adult and take the lead by pushing Yen to run away or do something about it. Is Ciri also going to quit now that she has found Geralt and Yen? And even worse, after Ciri knows about the plans of marriage, is she not going to tell "dady"? I can imagine she would understand "dady" would have something to say about it and would want to have a talk with the dear sorcerers. Why is Ciri at least not thinking about this trump card she has? She is the daughter of the emperor and she knows it. Plus she knows the whole marriage thing is against the emperor´s interests so he would be keen to help. Why not? He obviously let Geralt and Yen go so he may well be their best option. And after both Geralt and Yen are dead, why did Ciri just decide to forgive everyone and be gone? I could understand that if she saved Geralt and Yen. But once the ones she loves are dead, she should have absolutely no reason to care about anyone. She should be ready to go ask her father to KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM....and slowly!

And these are just the 3 main characters…….

The whole elven conspiracy also suddenly vanishes the story because…...reasons.
