Is Farage Ready to Face Financial Scrutiny?

preview_player

As an MP, Nigel Farage will have to submit details of his financial affairs, including for the 12 months before he became an MP. Was he aware he needed to do this, and is he ready for it? Will he try to fight the system to keep his business interests secret and, if so, will parliament fight back with tougher measures?

I wouldn’t be surprised if he has financial interests from Russia.

Audit the bastard, Then it'll all come out. With, hopefully, jail time.

He's got form on the financial side. He was cought fiddling his expenses in the EU. He had to pay back €40, 000 before Britain left the EU.

As I said, members interests have to be revealed in full. So his and Tice's should be "interesting"

This is exactly why they should be audited instead of having to declare. You have to allow MI5 to check through all of your finances and if you refuse you face a criminal investigation into your finances.

I don’t see Farage lasting long in UK Parliament tbh people recalled in recall petitions should be banned from standing in the subsequent by-elections.

If a donor gives Farage £100, 000 then presumably he has to declare that as earnings. On the other hand, if a donor gives him nothing, but provides him with a limousinr and chauffeur, then he has to declare that as a benefit in kind with an assigned value of what it would cost if he paid for it out of his own pocket. What happens if that donor funds a TV channel to the tune of tens of £millions and then give Farage almost exclusive use of it to promote his political ideas?

Reform is a LTD business NOT a political party.

People will be watching and reporting on every move Farage makes for the next 5 years. This wont be like his life as an MEP. Every vote he misses, every trip to the States, every local surgery or meeting he attends(or doesn't attend) people will watch and report. All that scrutiny and his financial affairs as well. Anyone notice how easily irritated he is on TV now? This will get very old for him very quick

I expect a 'Dog ate my homework' type excuse from Farrage

He would probably have a few reasons to hide it, cheques with point of origin saying Red Square, Moscow.

Good evening Phil and all here. He makes a lot of fuss about his bank accounts. So I am sure that he will not be very happy showing the financial transparency requested. . Have a nice evening 🍀 and all here

This was my first thought when he took his seat in parliament. What will he declare? What will he hide?
