To be honest, I can see Miramax possibly become an indie/secondary division of Paramount (and a replacement for Paramount Vantage; similar to Disney having 20th Century Studios, Universal having Focus Features, WB having New Line, etc).

I love that ViacomCBS now owns 49% of Miramax. They’ll do a good job of combing through their library for new content, like the upcoming “Scream” sequel from the filmmakers that made the awesome movie “Ready or Not”.

It’s much better to have an active media company seek to create new content like this, rather than have Miramax merely be a company that has a placeholder website and only releases catalog titles to home media.
