The Union Cabinet has approved the Model Tenancy Act on 2 June 2021, with an aim to revamp the legal framework with regard to rental housing across the country. The act aims to overhaul the legal framework for house renting, open up the vacant housing stock for rental housing purposes, and help bridge the trust deficit that exists between tenants and landlords by clearly delineating their obligations. After going through law the key component identified is that henceforth the developer can build buildings only to rent and not to sell. It means houses in cities will become more costly, as most of the property will be built to rent.

Disclaimer: Landlord are advised not to rent out their property relying upon this act, this is a useless law. Save your property.

Model tenancy Act don't b successful 🙏
Cons
1) Max Deposit 2 months wat a joke ah
2) And 2X n 4X penalty for late eviction 🎉 from where does landlord get it ah! Oh oh govt will give na..?
3)atleast make 2-12 months deposit range, By which it looks realistic 🙏
4) Landlord can't even fix one broken TV and fridge or any item pre fixed with thr huge n huge 2months deposit.
5) 😂3rd U pay rent and landlord gets rent
In middle (govt) silent wants u to pay them 🙏😂for giving u useless act🙏🙏
