she should file a lawsuit and sue them, they don't seem to sympathize or want to remotely respond to her.

This is why all professional henna artists, including myself, will refuse to offer black 'henna'. It isn't natural henna and is filled with chemicals, like PPD. Everyone, please refuse black henna hair dye or tattoos unless you know the ingredients, or know that you are not allergic!!!

The only Henna that is 100% natural is the brown one! not any other color

Hairdressers are meant to give their patients a patch test a few days for the actual appointment to see if they're allergic but if there not they can get it done

this is EXACTLY what happened to my mum when she bought a dodgy hair dye at a random hair shop it was such a scary experience, thank God the doctors were able to stop the swelling though

Already at 14 I had quite a lot of white hair. So I started dying my hair dark brown and did so until the age of 48 when I went natural and very white. From about 35 on, I had regular flare ups of body pain and bladder pain. No doctor could figure out what this was. I suffered quite a lot during those years. Then about 3 months after I stopped dying my hair, my husband pointed out that I had not had that flare in a long time. I sure was not missing it. When I thought about it, it became evident that the hair dye was the culprit. Years after that my hairdresser got the idea I needed dark streaks in my hair. I told her about my possible allergy – she said she would be careful not to put any on my scalp. It did not help. I was sick for weeks. I celebrate my white hair. Nothing will ever make me come near hair dye again.

I am dealing with this same thing, but I used the Revlon color silk in black, and after I noticed the swelling 2 days after dyeing it I researched and found out about the pod and I have dyed my hair for years and didn't have this problem accept for back in January I just got the hives on my scalp, so here it is 7 months later I use a different brand that I have used before in burgundy and had no problems, but this time I did. Thankfully the swelling is going. down it's just in my eye area now. Never again will I use any dyes on my hair, or use anything with ppd in it.

That's so messed up I would've went back to the shop, skip an email, that was my life. And if the stylist didn't do something about it then we will move to the next step.... Suing or losing your license... That stylist got lucky because it wouldn't just be over that fast for me.

I must add that on day 3, today, I did go to the E.R. and they put me on meds, so that is what is helping me.

This is why I buy pure henna myself and apply it at home👌🏾

I'm friends with her on fb & I remember when she posted what happened to her. She's a nice person and highly intelligent & she lost 300 pounds on a vegan diet! Very encouraging person!

I have anaphylaxis shock allergy reactions to a myriad of things, mostly food, I can't even keep count.
I also cannot keep count of the many medical professionals administering to me several of items I'm highly allergic to, even when I've written on the forms, verbally reiterated it, and the warning stickers are plastered all over my chart folders.
They have come close to killing me.
Unfortunately, most people have no idea how serious this can be, but one would expect that the pros would have a clue.

Henna does not come in a variety of colors. If the box is promising colors including the brown that a few comments are suggesting below - it is not real Henna. That product contains chemicals.

The exact same thing happened to me when I coloured my hair black with Dark&Lovely hair dye. I'm so glad I have been going over videos about Hanna, because I just ordered a pack off Amazon. Thank goodness it only cost £5.00 I wont be using henna. Not taking the chance.

I stayed in India, some of them actually grow henna tree and make the henna from the of the plant. That one really sooothes when you put it in the hair or even on skin. But the one we get here is nothing like that. It's totally synthetic.

I’m allergic to nickel in earrings and I walked into a shop once and bought a pair of earrings and made sure to confirm with the staff that it was sterling silver and not including nickel. They said it was fine, that it was hypoallergenic, I woke up the next day with completely swollen and infected ears. Nowhere near as bad as hers but I understand how it must feel

This makes me feel like my mother is right, I shouldn’t dye my hair 😅
