After his masterpiece, Irrlicht, Klaus Schulze released his second epic endeavor into ambient, CYBORG. "It isn't quite up there with Irrlicht, but still a fantastic journey all the same," is what I thought when listening to the last track of the original release. Then "But Beautiful" came on, and I was intrigued by the 50 minute length and was not disappointed in the least. It elevates Cyborg to Irrlicht's status for me.

But Beautiful is a live recording from a concert in Brussels in October of 1977 at a cathedral called St. Michael's. "The church was so crowded they opened all the doors so the people outside could listen too," Schulze recounts in an interview. It was included in the re-release to give the "harsh avantgarde sounds of CYBORG a more 'beautiful' conclusion."

Just be prepared to listen to this.... no cellphone, no distractions... better at night...(wine optional)...Is this.... music turned into sounds or SOUNDS turned into music?  NO matter how we perceive it... because at the end...  is nothing ..."but beautiful".
