Romania to many is more popularly known as Transylvania.. and the most fictional character, Dracula! In this vlog, we visit Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle) and other commonly visited tourist spots on our road trip around Romania.

Nice vlogs girls, but the Bran Castle is so touristy! There was absolutely no connection between the historical character that inspired Bram Stoker's vampire (Vlad the Impaler) and the Bran castle. Probably the historical character has never set foot in the Bran Castle. The castle featured in Bram Stoker's novel is located somewhere in the north (Bistrita, Prundu Bargaului) but there is no castle that matches the description in the novel. Probably because of some ressemblance between Stoker's description and the Bran Castle the tourism industry promotes Bran as Dracula's castle. If interested in seeing a castle that had a real connection with the character that inspired Dracula you can visit the fortress of Sighisoara where Vlad The Impaler (son of Vald Dracul) was born or the Poenari Citadel which he built and used as a refuge and hideout. L.E.: I noticed that you explained correctly but still, Bram Stoker, Dracula's author had no idea about the existence of the Bran castle.
