Here is my review of the 2013 version of the Bachmann Class 47 "Greyhound" Diesel Locomotive that is based on 47834 in the 1990's Intercity Swallow livery and is set about 1993/1994 in its time and is named as "Fire Fly". The model has directional head/tail lights as well as cab lights which the cab and tail lights can be disabled via the switches on the fuel tank.

This model has been superseded by the 2022/2023 model from Bachmann but this 2013 example is still a great model and the prices are cheaper as I picked up this one for a good deal pre-owned. The box was flood damaged and I had to rebuild it with sticky tape so I did manged to save the box from further decay.

For the test train, I did borrow some intercity coaches for the Performance Test and this Class 47 Greyhound model locomotive is a solid and a strong puller. No traction tyres or any cheating whatsoever. This is organic power at its best.

Overall Rating: 10/10.

I have loved that livery since I was first introduced to UK trains a few years ago. Glad to see that it not only looks good, but runs well! Nice pick-up!
