I had the same problem in V32, I thought that the files were deleted. I then updated to V33, changed the settings to delete files instead of trashing them and it freed up a ton of space. I love Batocera and Batocera Nation. Keep the videos coming.

I always delete my files over network, easier to see and manage. I'm sure this was also the case on v32 and why I started deleting from network...great video and useful as ever, never stop putting these up!

I just figured this out recently. This really needs to be fixed in the filesystem, All those headaches not being able to Update LOL

I wondered why the trash can didn't have files in it that I deleted, and this also explains why my space hadn't increased, I though how odd. I have on occasion wanted to retrieve something from the trash, it is nice to have the final purge of files from the computer, kind of a safety net lol. Thanks for the info and explaining it well!

You can also disable TRASH CAN, this way, all deleted files are deleted in first place:
- EDIT > PREFERENCES > UNCHECK 'MOVE DELETED FILES TO TRASH CAN'

Many months ago, probably early on in Batocera 32, I reflashed my drive when I found out nothing was deleted. Since then I created a "TRASH FOLDER" in one of my shared drives and I cut and paste what Ii want to delete into that folder and then delete permanently when I go back to Windows

I dont have .local where should I look?

Fixed it. You have to go to top where is files edit etc. Go to go and go to Location (or type ctrl+L) and type in manualy the location

Please make sure you enable "Show Hidden Files" by pressing [F1] then [right clicking] on the file window along to view (drop down list) otherwise you won't see the ".local" folder and will probably panic like I did for about 5 minutes 😂🤣😂
