"Awurade Kasa" is undoubtedly one of Cindy Thompson's more popular songs, and powerfully so. Literally translated as "Lord speak", this song draws profoundly on the disciples' experience with Jesus while traveling with Him by sea. As they sailed, a fierce storm broke out. The disciples, some of whom were very experienced fishermen themselves, could not control the boat in the midst of the storm. Fearing the worst, they called on Jesus (who prior to this was fast asleep) to come to their aid. And He does. He speaks to the storm, and all is calmed. Just a word, and their fears were laid to rest.

Cindy Thompson's "Awurade Kasa" is a heartfelt prayer to the effect that the good Lord would speak to our life's storms, whatever they might be, assured that if He does, all will be calm again.
