the place is overcrowded, with thousands of visitors from all over, especially from Delhi. You could actually see the difference in crowd and the messyness if you had visited long before and are visiting again during peak summer season. The city people have no belongingness. Everywhere they go they make footprints of themselves by there litters. Thousands of visitors camp all along the river Ganga, starting from Lakshman Jhula to Shivpuri. until some young college girls and boys started quarreling in the night after boozing. Some were even throwing out on the bank of the river. All the filth from the camps goes into the once pure Ganga. Nonetheless, the river water is chilling but it is not pure for consumption in Rishikesh. Also, the weather during the day remained hot with scorching sun. Evening time is cool if you are going there for camping. But a sunscreen lotion and a mosquito repellant cream is highly recommended because the tents are well equipped though they provide beddings, food, etc. If given a chance much prefer go to other tourist places where you can also experience similar adventurous activities that Rishikesh can provide.
