Also, the bridge fight is easily one of the best action sequences in a series that was already stuffed full of incredible action sequences. The amount of narrative symbolism and foreshadowing there is mind-blowing!

Your sister (the one watching first time ) is very intelligent. I've never seen anyone predict so many things before they happen in this show.

Sorry for the late post! We had some hard drive issues to overcome! We've recovered mostly everything, except for the Enemy music video reaction 💔 so sorry. We've been attempting to repair it but to no avail. We appreciate all of you! 😅💕

Jinx's suicide attempt (cuz that's what it was) is so heartbreaking. I watch that sequence from her POV and how her sister "betrayed" her (again), "abandoned" her (again), how her closest friend from childhood is now an enemy, an enemy her duty is to defeat for her "father", and she can't even do that... and it's like she decides she's had enough and checks out.

Jinx and Ekko were the closest of any two children in the first three episodes. That history lingers inside of both of them and lives deep.

"I think I need a minute..." is a very appropriate reaction to finishing an episode of Arcane

As if the reunion scene with the flare weren't enough, they spoil us with an even better scene in the next episode. Every frame of the entire show is a painting, every second has meaning. There's no fat to trim, the editing is unbelievably tight, and they trust the audience (like with the letter with Mel's seal on it. Not everyone noticed immediately that it was a letter from 'home', but it wasn't necessary for everyone to immediately notice. A lesser show would say "This letter from your family came today." Arcane does it by evoking her ring you probably remember and the microexpressions in her face when she sees the letter.

It's a masterpiece 6 years in the making.

I’m not sure if it’s been told yet but I believe the firelight bombs of Jinx’s purpose is to target weapons. If you didn’t notice, they landed on the guns of the enforcers. Hence Marcus losing his arm. Caitlin traded in her gun for the medicine for Vi which is a decision that may have ultimately saved her from an explosive end to her life if this is the case! Explains why out of all of them, only enforcers were killed while the others were only mildly injured.

In the games, ekko has custom lines when with Jinx.

"I use to have a crush on you, until you started talking to the guns"
and
"Powder, I miss you so much"

The part with Ekko and the stopwatch, and him being hit in the past but then getting it right in the present is a nice nod to the game. I love that whole sequence so much!

I have NEVER seen somebody guess that the firelight "bugs" were actually bombs.

LMAO the ''don't look at me!!'' when the smiles come out. She's right, we need those for the content, stop peeping! 😂

16:02 insert "they seem to be very good friends" meme 😂

I was happy to hear your mention of what a good character Caitlyn is though. She is SO smart, but there's a lot she just doesn't understand given her upbringing, and the writers balanced those two things really well. I think her good heart bridges the gap there, because when she's exposed to these harsh truths she doesn't fight them. She sets aside her biases and accepts reality for what it is, so she can try to help the people who are suffering. I love her so much.

ALSO PS because I i just finished....yeah. Arcane was a great show from the beginning but Ekko vs Jinx elevates it to a work of art. You don't DO something like that if you're not like...a big brain, big passion creative. Anyway this comment is plenty long lol, can't wait for the rest!

I've rewatched that bridge scene so many times. I'll just be at work and randomly think of it and have to watch it again. I'm right there with you thinking that scene made this otherwise great show a masterpiece. I've been in the computer animation industry and have seen lots of amazing scenes, but this sequence blows everything I've seen out of the water.

From the animation timed to the music, the music itself being great, the backstory relayed through it, the stylistic artwork and symbols being shown. It all just blew me away. I've been watching other "reactions" to the show in hopes of finding someone mention how amazing it was and I'm happy you two got it.

In the music video for "Enemy", young Powder and young Echo are shown to be very close and its possible Echo had a crush on powder growing up. The moment when he hesitates and just looks at her hurts a lot more knowing they might have had something. Jinx almost seems to regret everything and just give up when she decides to kill herself by detonating a grenade so close to her.

13:35 the common theory (given what he says after) is that viktor hesitates very deliberately. he's already figured out how to disarm it, but he also knows that he and Jayce are - for the time being - the only two who really understand hextech. if the bomb killed them, it would set Piltover back years, maybe even _decades_ on weaponizing it, and it seems like he really considers it. chilling stuff.

The "Guns for Hire" scene and the "Dynasties and Dystopias" scene are easily my favorites in the whole show.

Two difficult to notice items from this episode.

When Jinx is going through her episode at her desk, you can actually see the mechanical firelights flapping their wings on the desk. They are made to fly toward and land on metal which is why they went toward the officers and landing on their guns.

In the scene where Silco is talking to the council, you will notice there are large flowers blooming behind Finn. When Silco leaves the room, after having gassed everyone, you will see that all of the flowers have withered and died. This creates a great juxtaposition between the previous scene when you see the thriving tree being shown to Vi in the underground. Love this show. lol.

I didn't think about it but looking at the scene where Mel, Jayce and Viktor is talking they are literally talking _over_ him! Good catch!

16:03 she was about to say “they’ve become such good friends” Lol
One day she will finally realize it’s more than that.
