I think it's unfair to compare models vs idols because models are like mannequins they are supposed to showcase the clothes not themselves but idols in other hand they are supposed to make themselves presentable with the dress

Before anything;
We need to know that there are at least 2 kinds of models:
- the one promoting the product
- the one aiding their visual to the product (like magz cover, beauty products, perfume products, etc)

For the first case, especially in clothings, the model shouldn’t overshadowed the clothes.
They should in any way, making the clothes look it’s best, without giving the vibe: “look, im beautiful in this”, and “i’m the most beautiful in this”.
It should simply shows it’s (the clothes) ideal shape on size 0, average model height.
Just the basic non personalized look (credit to the designer).

For public figure, espc idols, their apparel are supposed to boost their visual.
It’s expected to modify it in a way that suits the idol best.
