The 2008 Acura TSX is a Good Bargain Sports Sedan

Here's why the 2008 Acura TSX is the driver's 4-door bargain.

Want to go "fast", carry four friends, but don't like hanging out in German repair shops? Then the Acura TSX (AKA Accord R) might be right for you. Sold elsewhere as the Honda Accord R, the TSX was Acura's entry-level sedan after they phased out the Integra. It also served as a replacement for the RSX, which had 2 doors, which is different than the TSX...because it has 4....Moving on. From 2008-2013, this was the smallest car Acura sold EXCEPT for the CSX, which was only sold in Canada.

Two years ago, walked into a used car lot and bought a clean title 2008 TSX with Nav and 150, 000 miles for $4, 995. Car was super clean, all highway miles. Only wear on the car was rock chips on the front bumper. Haven’t had a single issue 15, 000 miles into my ownership. Came from an 02 RSX-S, which had 185, 000 when I sold it. Can’t argue with Honda/Acura reliability.

It’s now 2021. I bought my TSX of of this video and many others like it! I got my TSX with 104k miles, babied, all service records, zero rust and one tiny scratch. $4k. My plans are simple. Beefed up sways, coil overs, front lip and wheels/tires. Cannot wait to dig into mine. Great video!!

I love my 2007 TSX auto (I wish it was a 6-speed). Installed an Injen CAI and got a flash pro tune on it. My favorite daily driver that I've ever owned, it's fantastic.

This is one of the last cars with low budget reward. I love how the interior is clean and easy to locate the button you want, not obnoxious and distracting. IMHO the TL is a fantastic car but too large for my taste..

If I recall correctly, back when the Integra was replaced by the RSX, Real Time Racing didn't switch from the Integra to the RSX for the Sportscar Challenge series or whatever it was called. The suspension geometry was that much poorer with the RSX that they chose to continue campaigning the Integra for a season or two, but when the TSX came out they changed to the TSX since it had proper suspension that would work well for the racing series.

Acuras from the 00s are great cars. RSX, TSX, TL (throw in the NSX if you want) all have timeless styling, functional but good-looking cockpits with good driving positions, good shifters, entertaining sounding engines with naturally aspirated response and a progressive power band, and Honda/Acura at their best have great road feel and breathe over the road very well, and these were some of their best cars. A gen 1 TSX with a stick is a great low-key enthusiast buy.

similar circumstances; went from CRX to a red TSX (2004) with optional factory wing and still one of the slickest sticks, truly enjoyed the mixture of comfort, luxury and the manual...quality interior, leather seats and a pleasant stock audio system which was easy to add on two kids were 9 and 11 so it worked well in multiple capacities....

Got an accord euro manual here in aus, brilliant car and super reliable. Some handling mods and some slight improvements to the motor and you have a great daily driver that'll never let you down

The gentleman's civic. CHEAP, reliable, 4 door, fuel efficient, manual, loaded and k24. Also I think the front looks great. Clean and crisp. Unbeatable for the money.

Bought an 06 A-Spec 6MT as my first car at 16 for $800 w/ 145k miles. SEARCH PEOPLE, SEARCH!! The car you’ve been looking for could be right around the corner, my neighbor had it sitting in his garage for a few years not being driven in great shape. Albeit I have 3 bent rims that I’ll replace when spring comes but everything else is flawless!

Best part of it, not too slow, not too fast, you can floor it and have the time of your life, different world from sports cars where u only get a few seconds then your fun is over, crossing “go to jail” speeds.

VTEC just hits different on the K24A2s, especially with a tune. <<sergebo is better than hondata imho. Also, u can safely raise the fuel cutoff to 8k rpms with an RSX oil pump, because the stock power is revved into a wall.

Edit: Forgot to mention, if you’re worried about understeer or torque steer bc it’s FWD, don’t be, handles everything perfectly. Also, body roll is not a thing on these. Can and WILL pass new BMWs on the track, and engine lights heal themselves as per Honda’s standards.

Thanks for reading my $0.02 and long ass ramble!

TLDR: Good car, f*cking insane engine, buy one, tune it, have fun, profit, just don’t crash hehe

A TSX should not be compared to a Civic... It is a much more comfortable car to drive. Slow is not a word I would use when describing a TSX. The motor is awesome and super reliable.

I own this same car. 250k miles. Still redline it and drive it like there’s no tomorrow. Haven’t had a single issue with this car. Absolutely love it

The TSX is very under rated. It's a super fast car if you mod it the right way. Stock by the way.
My TSX is so
All I did was a few mods, and now it's faster then most turbo cars. I don't have a turbo by the way.
Super reliable too.

Got one of these in Europe. Here it's the Accord Euro, but mines a (behold) 2.2 DIESEL. Honda engine, fantastically reliable, and powerful.

Mine's been played with so has 212HP and 440NM of torque, so nothing incredible, but it shifts for a daily.

Almost got one of these but opted for the better looking RSX. The only thing holding it back is the suspension geometry but I've done bushings, coilovers, sway bars, and a strut bar so it moves around corners.

So the K24A2 is the exact 2.4L version of the RSX because they only K series motors i hear about with drag racing is either the K20A2 or the K24A2 because the blocks can hold a lot of horsepower
