The Tories' Suella Braverman has called on the Conservatives to "welcome" Nigel Farage into the party in order to "unite the right".

Meanwhile Nigel Farage has appeared to suggest he is plotting to takeover the Conservatives after the General Election if the party suffers a catastrophic showing at the July 4 poll.

Illegal migration minister Michael Tomlinson warned today of how the swell of support for Reform UK could be doubly damaging to his party's chances in the election.

Iain Dale's Cross Question panel discuss how Reform UK could impact the Tories chances and whether they will help or hinder the incumbent party.

If the Tories made a Trojan horse it would be over budget have three legs and not have any access for the people to get in or Tories have lost all credibility. Nigel doesn’t need them in their current

Farage will keep being a thorn in the Tories side until they give him a big cuddle, possibly a K and a safe seat. At which point he will consume the Party from the inside and fashion a rank little NF outfit for himself and his paymasters.

Farage was elected by voters to represent them in the European Parliament - and he failed them spectacularly. Up to June 2016, UKIP leader Nigel Farage had the worst voting record of any active MEP in European Parliament. Analysis of the MEP voting records placed Farage 745th out of 746 MEPs on the register - with only Brian Crowley, a MEP in Ireland who has NEVER voted, below him. It’s almost as though he couldn’t care less about the will of the people who he represented, but used the mandate given to him to play petty politics.

Chris Fox makes an important point. Westminster is out of touch with the rest of Britain. I'd suggest mainstream media and broadcasting also suffer the same myopic view. London is not representative of the UK.

I've said from day one that when the Tories started joining reform I said this is the only way they will get back in to Westminster and reform are just another part of the Tory government

I can't see Nigel being much of a constituency MP. It's too much hard work. He and UKIP were laxey when they were MEPs.
