In our NYC BIGGEST BOOKSTORE: STRAND BOOKS we visit the Strand Book Store in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan with our dog Hudson. We browse their vast selection of over 2.5 million used, new and rare books and also check out their vinyl record selection.

Guys go and buy books!!! The store must survive! People need books! This store is a treasure, is like a sanctuary for the souls! And it is so New Yorkish (in my opinion). This bookstore gives me the feeling that I am in my secret fort, in my secret place in my own world, where every thing is beautiful and well! E-books are good, but nothing compares with holding a real book in your hands! Karla, James and Hudson, I want a live video for their first one hundred anniversary! You guys are so lucky to live in a place when you can find a bookstore like this one. I can`t believe I missed the live stream! Greetings from a great book lover! I love the Strand! Anytime I'm in NYC, I go there, buy a book (or ten) and sit in Union Square Park reading with a coffee. When this pandemic eases up, I will definitely find my way there. Thank you for the video!

ABOUT TWENTY YEARS AGO I USED TO WORK CLOSE TO THIS STRAND BOOK STORE. BUT I WOULD SELDOM VISIT HERE BECAUSE IT WAS ALWAYS CROWDED. Just diving into some of your archive content guys and came across this little gem 💎 I used to spend an insane amount of time getting lost in the heavenly aisles at weekends or days off. When I returned to the UK to live my baggage allowance was way over mainly due to all the little gems I found here or other smaller independent stores. I still cherish them now. So nostalgic watching you browse the aisles 📚⏺

Love The Strand. It's a family tradition to go there every New Year's morning to shop, although I go there a few times throughout the year. I admit, I haven't been in there this year yet since New Year's and it saddens me, but I will be supporting them on New Year's Day in a few weeks.

Years ago, bookstores were very popular but not many left. Even the big chains went under. .. such as Borders, Walden Books . My neighborhood had The Learned Owl, The Odd Corner, The Secret Attic but times and buying habits change and they closed. Buying online is the rage, but one day this will change when a new way to buy items is developed.
