Hi James. What are your opinions of E. Marinella or Charvet ties? They are over $200 in Canada.

just bought a pair of their all leather top sneakers .. $1295... easily worth their price... comparable to my E. Zegna sneaker..

When you compare brands, remember that there is the history behind the brand, it’s not just comparing one tie with another. Nowadays, many many clothing brands produce externally their own company and outside Italy. Kiton remains one of the fewer to produce internally and 100% in Italy. To do that, Kiton has almost 500 hundreds tailors. A very big number that other companies I do not think they have inside their companies. That means high and higher costs. Also, Kiton invests a lot of money on the exclusivity of fabrics, just owned by them. That also means higher costs. When you go to Kiton, you can see hundreds and thousands of fabrics, rare fabrics, that you cannot find everywhere else. That’s what Kiton wants to make the clients feel when they wear kiton, exclusivity and quality. I don’t want to say that the other brands that you mentioned are bad, instead they are really good. But when you compare brands there is much more behind it.

I'm a tie guy but I'm one of those guys who believes that money cannot buy class. Spend away fools..

Kiton charges a fortune for suits. I was quoted $12, 000 just for a sports jacket. A AD store takes the measurements and a factory in Italy makes the suit. Then goes back for fittings at the store.

I agree 100% they are not worth nearly $300 dollars. I’m more of a $195-$230 tie kinda guy. I usually have Brioni, Tom Ford, and Turnbull & Asser ties.

A lot of that money is a brand name. What are people willing to pay for it. If we take that same tie and put a diffetent Ross brand than it will be 40 bucks yie
