We own the same with T6 polestar tune. One issue - your favorite dog gate had to be removed due to the air struts going bad. No replacement is available. A new one seems to be the only, quite expensive, option.
The second very weak exterior panels. Was the only vehicle, out of 4, damaged in a hail storm. Ironically, among other vehicles; 2 - volvo C30's and GMC 2500HD - no damage whatsoever. Otherwise, the V90 XC is the best wagon I've ever seen so far. I recommend a screen protector for the info center. Bought one from Amzn when the car was new. Seen other used Volvos with scratches in that area. Great review.

Adaptive cruise and blind spot (2013 V60) are two of the best driver aids and are now a requirement on anything else i look at. Shame there will be no more new estates from Volvo.

I had a V90 D4 Inscription after my V70. Lovely car, although mine was ruined by the "20" wheels it came on. After 60, 000 miles a service was quoted, with brakes at £3500. I sold it.

I have a XC60 Inscription with the vented seats, before that had a Momentum XC60, and found that you sweated quite a lot, but the Nappa and vent makes it another world.

Nice review. I thought I’d come up with a killer point at rhe Volvo showroom recently…They wanted me to swap my 2014 XC70 for V90 Cross Country but I said I wasn’t happy with the touchscreen commands (while driving) and that seems to go against the Volvo safety tradition. They then demonstrated that all major commands - heater, radio, telephone etc. could be managed with Voice Control 🙄!! I have tried them on an XC40 snd they do work 👍🏻 - once it gets used to your voice and you say, for example, Call John - not Ring John 😀

my opinion is that the v90 xc is the best but the ratios of the v60 xc is better

Does this V90 suffer from the irritation of the radio shutting down after about 5 minutes or so when parked due to "low battery"? Seems to be a regular problem when parked up listening to the radio in my S80. No real obvious reason for it, battery in good condition, is it down to a rather too high battery voltage safety threshold?

Thanks for the review! As a former V70 owner, I had a my first drive in a V90 the other week but was sadly disappointed. I was, of course, aware that there is less boot space than in the V70/XC70 but I was quite surprised at just how noticeably smaller the overall capacity is. What was Volvo thinking?!

To me the cabin also felt rather "claustrophobic", albeit perhaps as a perception rather than reality. What didn't help was the massive "box" of sensors between the rear-view mirror and windscreen, which blotted out quite a lot of the view, especially for me as a tall-ish person.

I drove the D5 PowerPulse variant but the performance was nothing special, while the turbo lag was quite frightening when trying to safely get on to busy roundabouts. In that sense it really felt like driving a turbo-diesel from the 1990s.

Overall perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that Volvo has dropped production of its estate cars for the UK market. While SUVs have become an almost dominant choice, maybe that's partly because Volvo chose to no longer make what I would call a "proper" estate car!

Another issue with the touchscreen is when a previous driver has sneezed ( @ 21:00 ) - wiped their nose with their left hand and used that hand to operate the screen. Covid alert!

So I'm now in the market for a tidy V70 or XC70 or Merc E class.

Why do they have the £390.00 VED Surcharge ? Do you know ! P.S.I think the dog guard is an option as not all V90's CC, have one ? Great video.

Could I put in an "off topic" question?? I am about to have my third ABS Sensor in a year replaced (£150 each time)! To be fair, the XC70 is nearly 10 years old (but only 36, 000 miles). Is this a common fault on Volvos as it certainly is for me. Oh and by the way, you were going to let us have your views on the merits or otherwise of locking wheel nuts? Please let us have your thoughts on these topics at some point. Thanks again.

Surprised as to how similar these cost in the UK to Australia given how low low low volume they were here

Do you feel the new CMA generation are built to last like the P2/P3 cars?
