Can't wait for them to determine who's at fault for this accident. One thing is for sure it wasn't a 50 year old white guy with submarine expertise. They fired that guy.

Kinda like investigating a kid breaking his leg jumping off a barn with an umbrella, what a waste.

They need to investigate why the craft imploded underwater, why? So they don't build another??!!

A lot of people commenting on how this is not in bad shape. This part of the sub which housed all the electronics, wiring, switches, relays, sensors, controllers for motors is not inside the pressure vessel, it was blown clear, same as the other end with the window when it imploded, that's why they were found a distance away from each other in opposite directions. The center carbon fiber tube was the only part that is in extreme pressure. Same goes for all ROV's, there's no pressure vessel to implode.

Probably these are the titanium parts that, from the images, seem to be in quite good shape. Maybe the carbon fiber parts were destroyed into many smaller pieces and could not be recovered within the debris presented in the video.

I'm so glad the taxpayers get to pay for this.

Doesn't look too bad. A lot is still intact.

Hey CP24 you do know hundreds of people died in a capsized boat off the coast of Greece right

Why are we so obsessed with this stupid boat. People die in boat tragedies daily. No one forced these malakis on the vessel. Tell us the real news

I apologize on behalf of my fellow mainlanders for the constant mispronounciation of Newfoundland. This guy did better than most but still did not nail it

How much is this costing us? Worth it if w could pick 5 new rich idiots every week.

That sub should have never gone that deep. Serious complications with compression on a structure made with fiber and resins. Microscopic cracks developed within the material, over time it gets weaker and then, crunch. There is a "solid" reason subs are made from steel. Bad idea, sorry for the people that died but you should have listened to your lawyers.

That means its not imploded its just broken in to pieces.if they are the actual pieces

Can't recycle carbon fiber . Steel or titanium can be.

I hope we’re sending the bill to the FOR PROFIT “tourism” corporation. And that they won’t get the corresponding tax write-off for relying on the taxpayers to fix their budgeting failure. You have to plan for failure, too. 😡
