Pauline Matthews (born 6 March 1947), better known by her stage name Kiki Dee, is an English singer born in Little Horton, Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire. Known for her blue-eyed soul vocals, she was the first female singer from the UK to sign with Motown's Tamla Records

Anyone new to Kiki pay the £25-30 and invest in the box set compilation of her work from early 60s thru 80s. There’ll be at least a handful of ‘classics’ like this that you will be astounded weren’t huge hits.

This singer should have been as successful as any other female vocalist of her time. Stay with me baby was a brilliant song for Steve Marriott and this version is equally amazing.such a fabulous depth in her voice. Fame is a fickle finger. Her inclusion in Northern Soul repertoire is a bizarre Lae recognition of a talent missed by so much of the music industry.

She's got an incredible soul voice. totally under-rated. On par with Dusty Springfield, Eva Cassidy, etc, etc.

She is a phenomenal singer. I remember picking this LP up back in the late 70's. Much as I love Don't Go Breaking My Heart, her real asset is her rock/soul chops.

So beautiful and so talented. It seemed almost impossible that her great mezzosoprano voice and songs were ignored by most of people. DGBMH was such a huge hit that just didn’t let her move on. Also her work found no promotion on the radio. She has always been an A class artist remembering her outstanding role in Blood Brothers.

Well it ain't Lorainne Allison but it ain't bad as a matter of fact it's damn good. I knew Kiki was good but I didn't know she was this GOOD! Powerful stuff from beginning to end.
