Sarah: “I’m an otaku, light can kill me.”

Me: “Well duh, he’s the one with the Death Note”

Girl adult Gumball is wearing the dress from S1E6 "The Dress". In that episode Darwin thought Gumball was a girl and fell in love with him, and their shipping began.

5:40 I thought it was female because everyone in town believe he was female while he wore his mom's wedding dress. Like.. They thought it was a completely different person.

Gumball’s gender was not changed for sensors! The wedding scene is a reference to an earlier AWOG episode. In The Dress, Darwin falls in love with Gumball because he thinks Gumball is a girl. The reason Darwin didn’t recognize Gumball was because he was wearing his mother’s wedding dress.

5:38 I think that could have actually been a reference to rule 63, aka genderbending characters since that's a really popular thing in pretty much any fandom. Heck, it might have been both for all we know, if there was an issue with censors, they might have taken it as a chance to do something with r63.

Imagine if Sarah used that notebook to ship characters on different shows to surprise us or make us uncomfortable?:
Mabel & Gideon
Rad & Dendy
Peridot & Lapis
Clyde & Lori
Flame Princess & Cinnamon Bun
And more

The Ship Note.

The ship that is written in this notebook becomes canon.

Also, doesn't the scene of the gumball and darwin ship represent the episode of The Dress? Since gumball was wearing his mother's wedding dress and Darwin was in love with Gumballs fake identity?

(ニーモさん) Retro Nemo, The words on Sarah's shirt is otaku. But, it's not written in Kanji, but in Katakana. The difference between the two is that kanji is a pictograph and or a ideograph character of an object, size, thing, and etc. While, Katakana is are Japanese characters used for words that are from other languages (アメリカ America) . So, in a nutshell. (Niku) 肉 (Japanese kanji for meat) is written in kanji, and (Otaku) is written in Katakana オタク(Japanese Katakana for Otaku).

The kiss at the end could be a reference to x reader fanfics where a character is shipped with whoever is reading it

One reference you forgot to mention is when Gumball and Darwin show Sarah all the chaos she's caused. Darwin says, "it's like a commercial for male deodorant out there, " which I'm pretty sure is poking fun at the surreal commercials for brands like Old Spice.

Also idk if it counts as another reference to death note but sarah said " i'm an Otaku, Light can kill me" . :p

I like how this really does not demonize fanfiction and and fanfiction writers. Yes, a bulk of it is silly, even stupid, but it is full of creativity and brings a lot of joy to the creators/readers. Most of all, whether you like it or not it does not hurt or otherwise effect the show or its characters (mainly because they are fictional in the first place), no matter how much people may rage, because "it is just fanfiction". So it is okay to let people have their fun, even if you don't like or understand it.

If anything, I find it can really help the actual show/movie/whatever by drawing in new people (I just got into the show Villainous thanks to fanfiction, I won't say what kind) and keeping interest and hype up. I remember the days of Anne Rice tearing through fansites to destroy all fan works because it did not match how she saw her characters. I noticed that that was around the time her books really start to lose its audience. While I am not saying her attacks on her fanbase was a major cause, I cannot help but think that it had to have alienated at least a part of her fans and greatly reduced the chances of new fans gaining an interest.

*blinks* Where did the soapbox come from? Sorry, I have spent a number of years feeling the need to defend fanfiction and its writers/readers... Its just nice to see a more welcoming approach to the subject.

I can't believe CN knows that people ship Larry and Mr. Small and actually put it in the show. I can't. XD
