The fact that joe accidently killed a boxer made a world champion punch drunk and traumatized so many boxers and still lost to ippo is crazy💀💀

I asked chatgpt to simulate a fight between the two and this is how it went.

Simulated Fight: Ippo Makunouchi vs. Joe Yabuki

Venue: Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan
Rules: 12 rounds, 3 minutes each (modern rules)
Referee: Mills Lane

---

Pre-Fight Analysis

Ippo Makunouchi: A relentless swarmer with devastating body punches and the iconic Dempsey Roll. Ippo’s combination of power, stamina, and discipline makes him a nightmare for opponents who can’t handle pressure.

Joe Yabuki: A scrappy, unpredictable counterpuncher with an indomitable fighting spirit. Joe thrives in chaos, turning fights into wars of attrition where he outlasts or overwhelms his opponents.

This fight pits Ippo’s technical prowess and raw power against Joe’s unpredictability and grit.

---

Round 1

The bell rings, and Ippo takes the center of the ring, jabbing to close the distance. Joe stays light on his feet, circling and using feints to disrupt Ippo’s rhythm. Ippo lands a few body shots, but Joe counters with a sharp cross that surprises Ippo. Joe’s unorthodox style keeps the round close.

Round Winner: Joe Yabuki (10-9)

---

Round 2

Ippo adjusts, using his jab to set up combinations. He lands a hard liver blow that visibly hurts Joe, forcing him to retreat. Joe fights back with a looping hook, but Ippo’s disciplined aggression starts to take over. A flurry from Ippo in the final seconds secures the round.

Round Winner: Ippo Makunouchi (10-9)

---

Round 3

Joe switches tactics, using his trademark cross-counter to punish Ippo’s forward movement. He lands a clean shot that rocks Ippo, but the younger fighter quickly recovers. Ippo retaliates with a powerful uppercut, but Joe’s counters keep him cautious.

Round Winner: Joe Yabuki (10-9)

---

Round 4

Ippo ramps up the pressure, pinning Joe against the ropes and unloading combinations. Joe absorbs the punishment but manages to slip a few punches and land a hard right hook. Ippo’s relentless body attack wears Joe down, but Joe’s grit keeps him in the fight.

Round Winner: Ippo Makunouchi (10-9)

---

Round 5

The fight becomes a war of attrition. Ippo begins to deploy the Dempsey Roll, weaving side-to-side and unleashing devastating hooks. Joe reads the pattern and lands a perfectly timed counter, momentarily halting Ippo’s attack. However, Ippo’s sheer power edges out the round.

Round Winner: Ippo Makunouchi (10-9)

---

Round 6

Joe turns the tide with his incredible toughness and unpredictability. He begins targeting Ippo’s head with wild hooks and counters, forcing Ippo to fight more cautiously. Joe’s resilience and ability to land clean counters make this his strongest round yet.

Round Winner: Joe Yabuki (10-9)

---

Round 7

Ippo, sensing the momentum shift, comes out aggressive, targeting Joe’s body with punishing blows. Joe takes the hits but refuses to go down, firing back with looping punches that catch Ippo off-guard. The round ends in an intense exchange, but Ippo’s volume and accuracy give him the edge.

Round Winner: Ippo Makunouchi (10-9)

---

Round 8

Ippo goes for the kill, initiating the Dempsey Roll once again. Joe, visibly exhausted, struggles to keep up with Ippo’s pace. Despite landing a few counters, Joe is overwhelmed by Ippo’s power and pressure. A brutal body shot drops Joe to one knee, but he beats the count.

Round Winner: Ippo Makunouchi (10-8)

---

Round 9

Joe refuses to quit, fighting back with everything he has. His punches lack the same sting, but his heart and determination keep him in the fight. Ippo continues to dominate, landing clean shots to the body and head. The referee looks closely but lets the fight continue.

Round Winner: Ippo Makunouchi (10-9)

---

Round 10

Joe, bloodied and battered, mounts one final offensive. He lands a clean cross-counter that staggers Ippo, but it’s not enough to stop the younger fighter’s momentum. Ippo closes the distance and lands a series of hooks, forcing the referee to step in and stop the fight.

---

Result:

Winner by TKO in Round 10 – Ippo Makunouchi

---

Post-Fight Analysis

Why Ippo Won: Ippo’s superior stamina, power, and disciplined aggression ultimately overwhelmed Joe, who couldn’t keep up with the relentless body attack and the Dempsey Roll.

Joe’s Performance: Joe’s heart and unorthodox style made the fight competitive, and his cross-counter was a major weapon. However, his tendency to take punishment and Ippo’s raw power proved too much in the end.

---

Verdict: While Joe Yabuki’s resilience and fighting spirit make him a tough opponent, Ippo’s technical skill, power, and adaptability give him the edge in this thrilling matchup.

For anyone who hasn't read Ashita no Joe, Joe's nicknames are the Wild Kid, the Brawler, the Messenger of Hell, and the Miracle Maker. He, before becoming a pro, knocked out prison arc Rikishi. This Rikishi was a pro who had been sent to juvie after fighting several street fights all over Tokyo. Despite that though, this fairly rusty boxer could still knock out 2 bulls unconscious and send multiple pigs flying with a punch. He may have been a welterweight/featherweight, but easily had the punches of someone relative to heavyweight. Kinda like the IRL Roberto Duran. He then fought Kim, who was basically a part time soldier who fought in Vietnam. While not as strong as Rikishi, he still killed 4 boxers in the ring using a technique called the "Chom Chom". Joe survived the Chom Chom, and won by sending Kim flying outside the ring. But during this time, Joe had actually grown to be a natural featherweight. But rather than cancelling his fight with Kim, he went on a 3 week weight loss journey to fight him. But when that didn't work, Joe resorted to buying some laxatives and taking them in a sauna. He was still 200 grams overweight tho, so he went to a hospital to get 200 grams of blood drawn from him. Finally, he fought the bantamweight world champ, Jose Mendoza, while being hugely handicapped by being severely punch drunk and still underweight. Jose Mendoza is like Rikishi, as in he's ungodly strong for his weightclass. Jose killed someone who was also considered a world champ with 2 punches. He previously also cracked a highly skilled L have only been shown in the anime, Jose was strong enough to crush metal coins in his hand after playing with them. Joe fought with him for all 15 rounds tho, and got pretty close to winning. In the manga, Joe could have won if it weren't for the bell. And in both anime and manga, Jose's hair turned grey after the fight. This is a possible indication of Marie Antoinette syndrome, a syndrome where a person's hair prematurely turns grey. Although the cause behind this syndrome isn't known, the most popular theory is that it's caused by extreme stress and traumL,

Joe has more opet from street fights, but if you don't attribute it to boxing, then the hippo's main punch is the dempsey, remember what you did Sawamura with dempsey ippo will be the same, only most likely 1 dampsey will pass, but at 2 joe will be the counter to and most likely joe will defeat ippo or even fight him in duels
