5 Problems the Line6 HELIX solves in 2024

Today I'm continuing my exploration of the Line6 Helix with a little commentary talking about five reasons I think Helix is still a viable and valuable option in the multi-effects and digital modeling conversation.

I'm admittedly new to Helix but have loved exploring all the effects and amps it boasts and tailoring presets to my personal tastes and needs. It's an endless playground and a convenient and increasingly approachable tool for studio and live use and one that I think is still a great choice in 2024.

I love that Line 6 has come from the original PODs to where they are now. I've used Spiders, I now have a Catalyst, and I still use a Pocket POD. Love them. Line 6 and IK with their AmpliTube and TONEX are killing it right now.

I'm so OG I knew them back when they were Line 3 😛

I would add one more: minimum point of failure. In my early days, gigging with a real pedalboard, I had more than one nightmare occasion when something would fail and I'd frantically look for the faulty cable. Since starting my modeller journey with the pod XT live it's been a case of "if it turns on, you are good to go". Now I also carry an HX stomp (genius device) with a scaled down version of my presets as backup, but the Helix has been a reliable source of sounds and every issue I had getting sound on stage was related to something else and located in minutes.

What a beautiful preset in that ambient section! One of my favorite parts of the Helix is the additive synthesis and unlimited routing and creative options for sound crafting. Any chance you can list that preset or any others you've made for sale? Would love to play around with those as you explore and build more!

Almost 10 years later and Helix is still the best! Will be awesome when the new Generation helix comes!

I fully agree with your arguments, as I have been using Line 6 products since the red POD. Also, for those using a Line 6 Variax guitar in combination with a Helix ….

I found it pretty interesting that you put your drive after the amp on that second patch. I loved the first patch. I would love a video that shows the breakdown. It’s a great shoegazer patch. ❤
