Extraordinary explanation using the analogy! I had a question though: Do the equations (Rtot=R1 + R2 + ....) and (1/Rtot = 1/R1 + 1/R2 ... ) essentially mean the same thing as do Kirchhoff's laws?

QUESTION: using your analogy, when there is a chair there is resistance, so the voltage disappears so to speak so then when the same student arrives at the battery, it gets another piece of chocolate therefore the PD is 1 for 1 student. WHAT if there is NO chair then the chocolate wouldn't disappear so when the student arrives at the battery again it would still have the chocolate, can you clarify this...
