Albedo: s.m. - Astr.- É a medida da quantidade de radiação solar refletida por um corpo ou uma superfície. É calculado como sendo a razão entre a quantidade de radiação refletida pela quantidade de radiação recebida. Em Astronomia o albedo depende da faixa de onda eletromagnética considerada e do ângulo de incidência. Quando nada é dito a este respeito, o albedo é considerado como sendo em relação à faixa do espectro visível e em relação à normal da superficie do astro. O albedo varia de 0 a 1. 1 equivale a uma reflexão total, isto é, toda a luz recebida é refletida, ao passo que 0 (zero) equivale a uma absorção total, isto é o astro seria totalmente negro observado do espaço. O albedo da Terra é 0,39, ou seja, a Terra reflete 39% da luz solar recebida.

i remember the question "whar is the reflecting power of a plant called ?" on a tv quiz and i i piped up with "the albedo" to everybody's amazement-thanks vangelis !

What I love about this track is Vangelis just got an engineer to do the voice to try it out, and it worked so well he kept it! Fab video btw, love it

I spent years of my childhood and my teenage years listening to this, reading DUNE and other SF novels. I still feel the vide today. So much good memories !
