The amount of people who are defending leaving the single market do not even know what it is nor do they know what it does for the country.

Tim Farron is by far the most reasonable of the big party leaders, in my opinion. I think they're going to get a surprising amount of votes, because if you take the 51% Leave vote and split those people between Conservative and Labour, and the 49% then agree with the Lib Dems... the two-party system isn't working, it's important to have choice and to vote for choice. We'll see what happens.

Brexiters keep saying everyone knew what leaving the EU meant, like we weren't there at the time. I didn't have a clue what leaving the EU meant, neither did any of the Brexiters, and that's why I voted Remain. I'll vote Lib Dem too.

What else is in your head we don't know about?.
Liberal you're NOT, Democrat you're NOT.

Before the referendum I asked many people what their intentions were and why, even people who we were on holiday with in France. One or two said it was they wanted to control our own laws but when challenged they admitted the did not realise how many laws were in our favour for working people. Some said they were upset by immigration levels but the overwhelming majority said they did not know enough to make a decision but would vote leave because it was a british thing. Since the result to leave was announced it is remarkable how keen the current government is to rush it through and the lies about leaving have all but disappeared. When I was asked what I would do I said I would sit back and make sure that I would not take part in the divisions that were inevitable on such a referendum that should never have been asked of a nation, a question that the vast majority knew nothing about but would make us all work much harder for a lot less over many years to come.

Membership in the EU is a really bad deal. Leaving the EU and remaining in the single market is worse. Much worse.

To everyone else down here:
If 2 of Leave's 52% wanted to remain in the single market, then the effective vote in favour of remaining in the single market would be 50-50. If that was the case, you cannot argue that it is democratically vital that we left the single market.

There are currently seven LD-held Parliamentary seats in England. Let us assume that those MPs will be standing again on June 8th.
But let’s say that that’s 7 candidates selected.
On the Lib Dem website it lists 12 candidates selected for seats they lost in England in 2015. On the internet it says that Vince Cable will be standing in Twickenham. That makes 13.
That gives a total of 20 seats in England where candidates have been selected for held seats and seats lost in 2015.
That leaves 22 seats in England where, according to the Lib Dem website, they have not already selected a candidate for the general election on June 8th in a seat they lost in 2015.
There is no information on the website of the Scottish Liberal Democrats about selected candidates.
There is no information on the website of the Welsh Liberal Democrats about selected candidates.
So talk about candidates selected all across the country? Rather patchy, I would say.

I'm not enthusiastic of the Liberal Democrats and Tim Farron lacks one thing. Pragmatism !

It was made quite clear during the referendum campaign that a vote to leave the EU meant leaving the single market, this was repeated and repeated over and over again - something like 27 times by David Cameron in just one of his interviews. If this hadn't been the case then far more people would have voted to leave than 52%. Hopefully this election will get rid of the Lib Dems for good!

The EU have repeatedly told us that we will not be part of the Single Market, so I'm interested to hear how Dim Tim hopes to bring this about.
