It’s always good to end a film on an uplifting note

So damn chilling. And the while film is less about a family being attacked by witches and more about showing how an innocent young girl can be backed into a corner and forced into having no other choice bit to join the witch's coven out of survival. I mean think about it...what are Thomasin's options? She can either slowly starve to death, alone, on an abandoned farm. She can die of exposure to the elements trying to walk back to town. Or if on the off chance she somehow makes it back to town, her story of what happe ed to her family would be turned against her and she would be hanged as a witch even though she is innocent. (Except of course for the death of her mother but that was in self defense.) For pure survival, her only option is to join the witches. And I LOVE the expression on her face as she floats in the air at the end. Every emotion plays on her face. Sorrow over the death of her family, shame and horror and regret at herself for signing her soul away tl the Devil, and also exhilaration at being free to do whatever and go wherever she wants.

I play this with the lights completely off, with eyes open and closed. The chanting echoing my ears and the darkness devouring me slowly felt soothing and calming just like the feeling of being levitated. No BS

I can't express enough how evil, dark, creepy, and DISTURBING this track is!!! My mom and I watched The Witch together and she was so creeped out by this scene and the witch chanting that she DEMANDED that I fast-forwarded it, lol. She said it sounded way too evil and scary. I agree. The movie was deliciously dark, though! ❤️

Believe it or not the ladies preforming as Witches in the scene of the movie were friends of the director. They were apart of a Yoga class he attends. The Chant they are doing is very authentic Enochian (Ceremonial Magic) invokation in the Enochian language. It's an authentic Magick Chant.
