How to Choose the Perfect Entry Door Hardware

When it comes to your home's entry door, it's all about first impressions. Does it greet visitors with a warm welcome, yet keep your family secure inside? Or is it lackluster and and easy target for a break in?

The door itself is the main factor but the hardware plays a huge role too. Make sure it complements the rest of the home, and does the job of keeping out unwanted guests.

Alright Dustin, so after someone chooses a new entry door for their home, they're doing to have to choose some hardware for it. So what are some different options for knobs and locks that they have to choose from?

Dustin:
Just like any other aspect of homebuilding, there's a ton of options, right? So you've got levers, you've got regular knobs, you've got tubed versus cylindrical. And it kind of comes down to interior versus exterior too. So you've got your exterior units here that always have your deadbolt with it. And in addition to that you've got random pulls, finishes galore, and even to crystal.

Daniel:
And with the locks it looks like it can either be integrated into the pull itself or it can be separated from it too.

Dustin:
For sure. If a customer doesn't want this big massive thing on their front door, they can actually choose a different style handle and then move to just a regular throw.

Daniel:
As far as finishes go, what kind of trends have you seen lately?

Dustin:
So this is pretty simple. It's either really dark. Either matte blacks and oil rubbed bronzes. Or it's a really bright finish. Either a gold or back to the really fun brushed nickel or the chrome.

Daniel:
So consumers really have the ability to customize the hardware to really fit the style of their house. We have everything here from, what looks like some classic styles, to modern styles and everything in between.

Dustin:
For sure, yeah. You can get anywhere from these incredibly decorative pieces that are actually going to wear as the clients using it. So you'll start to see some of the lighter colors come through. Down to these very modern pieces, and somewhere in between. For sure.
