I got the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination: Teen Vlog | Talking Point Extra|Sign in with Izza|Tanmay Bhat

Teens above 12 are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination in Singapore. Those below 18 are offered only the Pfizer-BionTech vaccine whereas 18 and above can opt for either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.

In this #TalkingPointExtra, 15-year-old Lucy Chia (Talking Point presenter Steven Chia’s daughter), takes us through her vaccination journey.

The teenager is afraid of needles and has heard stories of side effects from her friends who were vaccinated earlier.
Some of her friends had nausea, fever and sore arm.
Lucy films her side effects across the week and dishes out some tips for other teens who’re taking their vaccinations soon.

Things to keep in mind -
- don’t get vaccinated empty stomach, have a full meal some time before it.
-be hydrated
-make sure you catch up on your sleep
-have your medicine prescribed by the vaccination doctor, mostly it’s Paracetamol

As an elementary school teacher,
I got the COVID vaccine and will be returning to work in-person to teach my students!
I got Pfizer and I wanted to document this momentous moment of hopefully seeing our country heal from the pandemic.
It's a small glimmer of hope.
It's common to feel side effects from vaccines and I felt...all sorts of things!
