Показать описание
Part 2 of our very popular 1958 Ford Panel Truck build. Lance does step by step walk through the work that has been done since the first video was published a year ago. A full brake replacement from front to back including a disc brake upgrade up front. Cooling system reconstruction along with a charging system upgrade to a one wire alternator. We dig down through all the layers of gunk to see whats at the bottom. The nasty wooden shelves a removed and a really nice original wooden bed lies underneath. We also spend a considerable amount of time on the exterior of this old truck to buff out and recondition the original paint. Come along as Lance walks you through the build and brings you up to date on where it sits today.

I have been restoring a 1958 Willys Panel Truck. In fact I've been restoring this Panel truck for 44 years. When I bought it it had a Ford 289 V8 and both axles were wrong (mismatched ratios). It now has the correct original engine and matching axles. Patience is a virtue.

Glad to see you give this 58 panel a new life... I gave a 59 F- 100 a new life. Only I chose to swap a 351 Windsor and AOD transmission to the original 9 inch rear end. This combination let's the truck stay in traffic or lead it if I want to....

Love that you can figure out gas tank stuff. I can't seem to figure how mine comes out. Mine leaks. I miss my old 1966 Dodge panel truck, it used to be a San Jose police paddy wagon. I sold it years ago. So I finally bought a 53 Chevy Sedan Delivery. I had long ago forgotten how to work on stuff. Now, it hurts just to get on the gravel driveway to replace the rear brake drums. No proper tools (as they were stolen years ago). I did manage to get the car running and every thing hooked up, (with help ).It still runs, ok. I think it has a loose fuel tank because I hit a bump in the road on the test trip and saw fuel dripping when I got home. It has new radiator, wheel cylinders and brake shoes and drums. All the electrical I went through and got working. New custom tail light lenses and backing plates. Needs some body work as it was hit in the rear passenger side. I also need to get the shifter adjusted as it slips out of park. Car has no parking brake or sun visors.Lots of work for an old car, so I get what you went through.

I had one 59. For about 10 years and sold it when I was strapped for money. I wish I had have kept it. Because it was still drivable. In Tulsa, Oklahoma

Nice job. I grew up eating Kilparicks Bread. Dad bought 60 loaves at a time. Good bread. Good luck.

I love the video, I have a 1950 F-1 panel that I bought 3 years ago. One of the hard to find parts for my panel is the fuel tank. I bought one from a guy in San Jose, that was not exactly the same, he said he didn't know what it came out (what year). I figured it was from a later year. When I saw your pictures of the fuel tank in your truck, I saw the tank I bought from that guy, lol. Tanks for these old panels are almost non existent. FIY ... Mid Fifty ford in Golden Valley AZ makes an aluminum tank for the panels. It is a a few inches shorter to facilitate the use of an in frame dual master cylinder and brake booster kit in place of the original brake master cylinder. The original tank was too long to use the after market upgrade kit. When I found the later model tank, I decided to go with it.
