Training - Searching and requesting new terms in ontologies
Показать описание
In this session you will learn how to use the Ontology Lookup Service of EBI to search for a term, and how to request new terms or suggest updates in ontologies with the term submission form used by the Crop Ontology and the GitHub issue tracker used by the Agronomy Ontology.
This training is targeting those using controlled vocabularies, thesauri and ontologies for data annotation that want to learn good practices to search for a term in an ontology and request missing ones. The learnings will be applicable to most ontologies as they often follow a similar workflow using GitHub.
Following the presentation, there is an exercise during which you will be guided step by step to use the term submission form of the Crop Ontology, create your own GitHub account and open an issue in the GitHub issue tracker.
Exercise (starts at 28:43):
