Hermitcraft 10: Episode 13 - FIRST BASE BUILD!

In this episode of Hermitcraft Season 10, Mumbo works on the first build in his survival mega base! This detailed Minecraft shop build was first designed in Procreate as a Minecraft concept art, then built on the Hermitcraft server. This build is the first of many for my Minecraft survival mega base.

Very minor detail, but I think it'd be fun if the falling "o" in the Big Ron's sign was not glowing so it'd look like the light in the sign broke.

Brilliant front.
No interior
No back.
Mumbo is becoming Grian.

I love the way that mumbo (a suit wearing man) is always surprised that he is sold out and is becoming rich! Lol, shows his history in hermitcraft

There is something glorious about living in an era where "slightly old, faded technology shop" is not just a concept of the far future, but is actually a thing that we just know about in real life. Even if many probably got a start as an electronics repair place, the fact that "old, faded computer repair/supply shop" is a thing that makes sense as being and feeling "old and rundown" says a lot about how far computers have come.

peak hermitcraft is how _every single one of them_ reacted to the news of their mail system being installed with "great! now i can spam!"

Mumbob Ross has to be one of my favorite nicknames for Mumbo now.

“It’s doing well as a business.” When it was just Etho buying everything LOL

I know it might not be as satisfying as a timelapse, but I really do like mumbos approach to authentically showing the building process and talking through it. It feels more honest to the amount of work that gets put in, building something now takes a whole episode now instead of 60 seconds and I think it’s really cool.

I absolutely love how Mumbo went from "Clean and flush design"
to "Let's try gradients"
to "This 4x4 wall needs at least 15 different block types."
With all the excitement in between, that journey is just so pure and wholesome

I feel like you need to capture a pillager and put him in the store to be Ron. I imagine Ron to be rather cranky, and I think those pillager noises would be perfect :)

It takes a bit of time, but all you have to do is wait until an archer's crossbow breaks, and they become harmless.

Seriously, I've seen others like Grian make "concept arts" of what they want to do, but never have I seen someone do it so much more practical than Mumbo before. He never forgot that Minecraft is a block-game, so he made it isometrical, which means he can stick to his concept way better than if he had made some pretty painting full of curves.

I'm so glad that the ART MODE sign got the corner, it made my day.

If Big Ron is using standard sized business cards, his coffee mug has to be tiny to have left those stains. I love the idea that he actually is huge but uses a teeny tiny coffee mug.

The Art Mode, the business card, the story and the build details... You're literally having fun and I'm so genuinely happy for you.

Mumbo is explaining his design for the build but I have to watch it again because all I could focus on was the "Art Mode" screensaver (which is just 😙👌)

he's beginning to

also mumbo you've GOTTA show that concept art to bdubs because i bet he'd be ecstatic, he's been painting with blocks for Ever and now you're getting into the spirit of making builds from art??? i need to see this collaboration happen.

Big Ron seems like a very "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guy and I love it!

I'd love to see Scar's reaction to Big Ron's redstone shop. The environmental storytelling is fantastic with the upside down boxes and the sign falling down and everything
Also, I love seeing Mumbo's build process unfold. For us technical types, getting into creative building can seem overwhelming. Seeing that we're not alone in that feeling and seeing the "figuring it out" steps Mumbo goes through is really motivating and shows that anyone can learn how to build with the best, it just takes time and experimentation
