During our talk with Asian friends about food, we found that dog meat is now widespread in China and other Asian countries. As pet owners, we were shocked and deeply saddened.
We learned that millions of dogs are brutally killed every year,these dogs endure horrific conditions before being slaughtered. They are crammed into tiny cages, deprived of food and water for days, and many are slaughtered while sick.
Determined to take action, we decided to start a charity called MatePet. Our mission is to spread truth about the dog meat trade, gain more support and raise funds to save these innocent lives.We have now set up two rescue centres in China and have rescued a cumulative total of1200 dogs from dog meat markets.
