We were delighted to welcome Lord Melvyn Bragg, one of the University of Cumbria’s Honorary Fellows, to talk about ‘Writing about Cumbria’ at our Ambleside campus on Sunday 8 March as part of our English Literature undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Lord Bragg, is best known as a broadcaster and in particular as the editor and presenter of ITV's 'The South Bank Show' (1978–2010), and the BBC Radio 4 discussion series 'In Our Time'. He is also the author of several works of fiction and non-fiction, including a number of novels which are set in Cumbria. He is currently working on a new book which deals with his childhood experiences of growing up in Wigton.
