Such a beautiful country. I loved it there. Everyone speaks English. It's clean and friendly. Highly recommend.

Iceland is an example of how a country should be managed. Though their politics are a bit bureaucratic, still, they focus and invest a lot in education and research that strengthens their industries in place. They have the leading knowledge in geothermal energy. Their culture is rich and goes way back to the time of the Viking settlers. Gender Equality is strong and everyone works together and United. They don't discriminate (though they like to make offensive jokes in Icelandic about Americans and tourists... mostly Americans). Their food is great and the dairy here is exceedingly too good and too clean and not many overly processed foods. Their chocolate taste really good (Sirius). The locals are friendly but in capital, people are a bit too snobby towards tourists because there's too many hotels and tourists in general and it's somewhat changing the environment of "old" Iceland and what is used to be. Still, I wish iceland is a place to be. Minus the taxes... they are very high. Medical care system is "free" and universities are "free". Their medical does lack a bit behind than other developed countries. Overall, iceland is an amazing country. Few years from now, Iceland will develop more housing and I hope this doesn't remove any of the old culture of what iceland used to be 10-20 years ago.

We don't have a McDonalds anymore, but we have Metro which is basically the same thing. A bic mac there costs about 2000 ISK (about $14). An average house also now costs about 100-140 million ISK (720.000-1.000.000 dollars).
So yeah, cost of living is outrageous

There are casinos, just with the slot machines.. and there are also bets allowed, so if saying that Iceland has no casinos was to emphasise the lack of hazard as one of the reasons why this country is so reach - than it’s not the true. People can loose money that way in Iceland.
