Shannen Doherty Reflects on IVF and Wanting a Baby Amid Cancer Treatments

Shannen Doherty opens up on her 'Let's Be Clear' podcast about her IVF journey while undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer. Speaking with her oncologist, the actress explains that she wanted a baby not only for herself at the time, but also, for her now ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko.

She had IVF before finding out about her Cancer which had to before 2015 which is when she was diagnosed and she thinks the hormone treatments from IVF caused her cancer. I think that it is very wise for her to not move forward with having a child when she has stage 4 cancer. It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense given she does not know how much time she has. However I don't think it's too late to make an impact on a child or a number of children's lives by maybe fostering for a while or just committing some time as like a big sister figure at a ymca. There's lots of ways to still have a maternal like bond with a child

Not being mean. But, she found a lump.and didn't go to the doctor for over a year because her insurance had lapsed and she was fighting the screen actors guild to reinstate it.

I felt a lump while waiting for my insurance to kick in (3weeks).

I had $180 to my name after rent and bills. I went to the doctor two days later and paid out of pocket for my appt.

She has millions, she could of easily paid out of pocket instead of waiting over a year and wondering everyday if she had cancer! Which she did.

If she had laid out of pocket the year before, her ending would be way different.
