I graduated from Rollins in 1984. Some of the very best years of my life were in Winter Park.

I went to Rollins College for my first 2 years (years ago). I had scholarship funding, but worked part-time at Family Dollar. My experience with the faculty and the material taught was excellent. It gave me a good foundation for going to USF where I was always in the 10 students in Bio/Chem classes. I went on to go to med school and have been practicing for over 16 years. I feel so fortunate to have attended Rollins. I was glad I put in the amount of effort I did. It all paid off.

As a Rollins student in the early seventies from Atlanta. Myself and a few fellow students mostly Lambda frat brothers formed a rock band. Within a year we became better than expected. We played all over campus including practice jams at the student center Played mostly Allman Bros. Skynyrd, Zep etc.Performed New Years Disney Contemporary Top of the World.. My point is not to Bragg on us but to emphasize readily Rollins etc al welcome embraced live band energy vibe. We were sincerely encouraged collectively by the campus at large for almost three years so much so they hired the Beach Boys to do a concert in the old Gym. There seemed to be an all pervading heartfelt Kinship amongst students that even the staunchest of faculty couldn't resist. At least that's the way l wish to remember what in retrospect were some of absolute happiest years of my life.As to Rollins being a 'Party School' ?It certainly was then
🤗❤️😎✔️ Enjoy your videos very much.Highest Good to you always 🙏🙏😇

In the seventies outsiders referred to Rollins as ' Jolly Rolly(Raleigh). School for J's, Ray's, and (potato chip brand😮)

I loved this Video! As someone who’s transitioning from the Military and heavily considering Rollins college as my top school I appreciate the insight. I’d love to hear more about the school and the class environment

Let's just say in the 90s we had a t-shirt sold at the bookstore "Rollins College- A sunny place for shady people" I feel like today's Rollins is not the party school it was, if any parents or students are concerned!

Not sure how I ended up here but listening to your video was really odd-- I am watching the female version of me when I went to Rollins (1990 graduate). I was on scholarship otherwise would not have gone, lived off campus yet was involved in things like student government, president of a economics, pre law societies, had a job and never went to Rollins parties. Staying away from the club scene-- I was saying the same exact thing when I was asked why I wasnt showing up at clubs all the time. Clubs are especially bad for girls-- then and now.

You have the right attitude and made the right decision as long as they are providing a scholarship. You are much better off studying and avoiding the social life there. You are right, its not a party school because there are students, like yourself, who are there because they are serious and are taking advantage of the opportunity. Those students by the way end up becoming the most successful. If you can afford it-- its a great little micro environment to learn with the small class size, beautiful campus and solid faculty for the most part when I was there.

Best of luck with your studies.
