I think you forgot to mention that most apps on the iPad were made just for it, lots more graphical and details to load and yet it loaded just as fast or even faster then the iPhone 7 Plus, that alone makes the iPad way faster, not to mention the screen resolution!!!

Game load times have nothing to do with the GPU, that's still CPU (for decompression) and storage. The performance afterwards has to do with the GPU and CPU, but not the former for load time.

The performance comparison doesn't make sense to me because opening those apps is a tiny task for both those devices, so it's always quite similar and we can't really tell the difference. Also the A10X is more powerful than the A10 but the iPad Pro has to deal with a much larger screen than the iPhone! So takes more energy. What would be more interesting to compare power would be video editing for example, or gaming (not just opening the app!) on heavy games such as Real Racing 3 or World of Tanks Blitz for example. Also for apps that use internet, I wonder if the difference in loading time is not due first to the size of the antennas, rather than the power of the devices.
