Okami is the the complete definition of a sleeper hit. Just randomly bought it at a best buy having never heard anything about it or seen any marketing and it ended up being one of my favorite games of all time.

Okami is my favourite game of all time, nothing has ever topped it. As a teenager, it kept me busy after school when I was bullied, and gave me comfort. It also got me into doing art. It was the first game I fully 100% completed, including all the New Game+ stuff, and I played it so much my PS2 disc of it burned through and I couldn't play it anymore. Then I got it on wii (hated the motion control brush), then on PS3, and now I have it on my switch so I can play in bed when my chronic pain flares up. I am not joking when I said I cried after seeing the sequel announcement. If the sequel is done well and is just as good, if not better, than the original, I truly believe it will cure my depression. Not even kidding.

Okami has many, many qualities and is a true work of art. I think that what makes it even more than the sum of its parts is that it has so much heart - I believe we instinctively pick up on the fact that it was made with true passion and following a vision rather than a corporate blueprint.
Moreover, we've had so many gritty, serious, realistic games over the past couple of decades that a game like Okami stands out all the more in our memory like a shining beacon of joyful artistic expression.

I am in the same boat I am super excited about the 2nd game but I am also super mixed because it can make or break what Okami truly was as a game so I just hope he respects it well enough to make the sequel more like a love letter too his first one.

For almost 20 years of my life, now, I’ve struggled to get people to understand just why Ōkami became and steadily had continued to be my one, true, most favored game of all time. For an artistic child, this game had absolutely everything, and in my eyes there’s still no other game that compares!

I have never found another game that made me feel like I was literally in a painting that had come to life quite in the way that Ōkami does, I’d never heard such a truly beautiful and immersive soundtrack as Ōkami had (I still actively listen to it on a regular basis to this day, especially when creating art!), I’d never learned so much about another culture/religion through another game in anywhere near the same way that Ōkami had taught me and inspired me to learn more…the list just goes on and on.

The replay-ability of this game is limitless.

The art style is positively timeless.

I cannot WAIT to return to Nippon, I YEARN to hold the Celestial Brush, GIVE IT TO ME CAPCOMMMM!!!

Since Ōkami 2 got announced I have been replying the first game for the fun of it and to speculate what the second game will have

I played Okami 2 years ago it became my favorite game of all time, it was a beautiful journey and the ending made me absolutely blubber like a baby.Even hearing the first notes of "Thank you, reset" will get me tearing up and sniffling.

I've been recently replaying to help any new players thanks to the sequel release I find in the wild, I urge anyone who has a little voice in their head to telling them to try the game to listen and give it a try❤ .

Okami is that game I saw when I was 14 and had never ever heard of and just wanted it because of the cool wolf on the front cover. Turned out to be the best game I have EVER played. Played it multiple times on both the PS2 and the Wii. Snapped it up the second the HD version came out. I'm just now 100% completing it because I always got too distracted by the story before. I'm SO happy they're making a 'true' sequel now... it deserves this <3
