Our Equipment

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here

Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

#1. Don't in Barcelona: If someone offers you something on the beach for free and tries to thrust it into your hands, DO NOT ACCEPT.

Dude, you can not eat breakfast in Barcelona? Seriously? Have you not seen all the cafeterias, panaderias, granjas and bars serving food since early in the morning until lunch?

You can buy tickets for scheduled entry to Sagrada Familia online and then just walk up and go in at the scheduled time.

Don't underestimate pickpockets anywhere in the world. I don't know where Americans got the urban legend from that Barcelona is number one in pickpocketing because it's not true. It happens anywhere and of course in Barcelona when you behave like a tourist. But after being there dozens of times, I never had any issue.

Seriously. Go see beautiful Girona in the Costa Brava/Pyrenees region as well the ancient Tarragona. There is so much to see in Catalonia that Mark missed. If you stay in Barcelona you are truly missing out on a great cultural experience. Don't get me wrong, Barcelona is cool and the best large city in Europe (and it has beaches). It's too bad Mark didn't show the finer points of Catalan culture, cuisine, festivals like you wouldn't believe, amazing amazing festivities for families, teens, and nightlife abounds in Catalonia for those who like to party. Catalonia is mountain and sea. You can be whitewater rafting and surfing all within a 3-4 hour drive. Don't deprive yourself and get outside of Barcelona!

1. Police are aware and they do help you. I got robbed at Las Ramblas and if it wasn’t for the police I wouldn’t have had my wallet back.
2. Sagrada Familia tickets are online and you can even pick the time to go with no waiting.
3. No where to eat before noon besides your hotel???? Seriously??? You have bars in every corner. Don’t expect to est lunch before 1:30pm that’s true.
4. Normally the people who party that hard in Barcelona are usually tourists. Catalans don’t even go to those places you are talking about.
Oh and I have lived there so I know what I’m talking about

I live for almost 2 years now in Barcelona, and all of what you said is true. I would just add one more thing. Don't expect to have late lunch. Kitchen closes in most restaurants around 3.30 - 4 pm and stays closed until 7-8pm when they open for dinner. But of course, Mcdonalds and other fast food chains are always open. People in Barcelona like to eat late dinner, anything before 9 pm is too early. And if you are interested in eating good but cheap, go for the restaurant menu. They usually include first plate, second plate, dessert and a drink. For each category you can choose between few options. If you order wine for a drink, in most restaurants you will get a full bottle! And good menus are typicaly going from 10 to 20€.

Actual tip number 1: get your tips from locals, not from travellers like this guy (traveller = glorified tourist).

I'm from Barcelona. He is right on #1 don't eat at las Ramblas. But there are plenty of choices-Restaurants to eat. Just get away from the tourist areas, and they open early and late hours. Walk around enjoy yourself or buy a metro card that is around 11.35 euros (10 trips with connections). Traveling on a budget helps even if you are a spender sometimes. A regular meal two courses wine and dessert 13.00 euros and they bring plenty of bread to complement it. Anyhow, come to Barcelona we will be glad to see you smiling.

Been dying to go to Barcelona!!! Oh man, I remember when I went to Italy with my family when I was in 3rd grade and a lady was trying to pickpocket my dad and my grandma screamed "SHES TRYING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!!" Then my dad went to the police and they totally laughed like you said. I remember that so vividly!

Well Barcelona do what they can cleaning the beaches, but I think is some people education who rush everything on the floor also tourists who come only for party and get drug.... no respect

also a big don’t as someone who went a school trip and witnessed a lot of this- if you are staying in the gothic neighborhood understand that you will probably have to carry your luggage to the hotel. You can get close w taxis but my group still had to walk 10-15 minutes with our bags so if you are staying there make sure you don’t overpack

I spent a year in Spain, mostly in Madrid where i studied and it is a beautiful country. Spanish people are warm and welcoming. If i could recommend you a city that i visited it would be Granada (and Madrid but I'm not objective at all)
